Mark creates metal nature sculptures from his home studio in Corvallis using copper and brass pieces salvaged from local scrap metal yards. He decorates them with various etching patinas and colorful tropical-rainforest-inspired paint patterns.
Following a curiosity over the past sixteen years, his coppersmithing techniques are constantly adapting and evolving, taking inspiration from visits to the remote, primordial tropical rainforests of Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula. Mark partners with international photographers to help inform his sculpture designs and to build creation stories that transport patrons on virtual, vicarious expeditions to this exceptional place.
