Duncan, the person behind ellinwoodworks, is a chairmaker and woodworker inspired by the amazing forests of the PNW. He strives to use local timbers and green woodworking techniques whenever possible to imbue his pieces with a sense of place.

Heavily influenced by the rich chairmaking traditions of Wales, Ireland, Appalachia, and New England, Duncan combines traditional techniques with a modern understanding of wood to meld these traditional forms with contemporary designs. Working out of a small hand tool workshop, each chair is made one at a time and can be customized to suit the sitter's needs and intended use for the piece.
